Welcome to My Dream World
In this new series, I will be sharing real lucid dreams from my personal dream journal. I will detail my methods to induce the lucid dream and any dream control tactics I use during the dream. My hope is that you can use these reports to help inform your own dream practice and incorporate some of the lessons that I learn as well as gain inspiration for your next lucid dream.
Lucid Dream – A Human in My Dream World?
Date: 6/8/24
Dream Goals: My goal is to converse with a dream character to see what interesting responses I get.
Techniques Used: I had a relaxed approach on this night. Before bed, I set my intention to wake from my dreams with full memory. Every time I woke up from a dream, I recorded the dream then returned to bed to perform VILD. I honestly didn’t use much effort in each attempt but one of the attempts worked resulting in the following lucid dream.
6:00
I am in my childhood high school. I am in the bathroom. using the urinal. The floor is wet and the toilet overflowing. Gross. I look into the mirror and see my face. Suddenly I realize I am dreaming! As I walk out of the bathroom, I keep repeating “this is a dream” out loud to stay grounded and lucid. School has just let out and I see kids running through the halls. I ask a group of kids:
“Are you dream characters?” – me
The group of kids respond “Yes, some of us!”
I ask, “Wait, who is not a dream character?”
One boy enthusiastically responds, “Me!” I have the following verbal exchange with the boy
“What is your name?” – me
“Miguel” he says excitedly.
“Wait, how does that work?” – me
“I don’t know!” Miguel responds. He is walking around, way more interested and amused with what he is doing in the dream world than the interrogation I am giving him.
“What is your favorite thing to do in a dream?” I ask
“I like the textures” Miguel says, reaching out and touching the walls of the hallway.
I wake up.
Is it possible Miguel was a human that I encountered in the dream world? His character and responses to my questions set him apart from the other ‘ordinary’ dream characters who walk around like NPCs in a video game.
