Dream Goals: My goal was just to induce a lucid dream
Techniques Used: Before bed, I performed a meditation and set my intention to wake from my dreams with full memory. My plan was to take an “all night” approach to inducing lucidity. I planned to wake from my dreams, record them, then perform a MILD technique with the dream I just woke from. If all goes according to plan, I will have multiple opportunities to induce a lucid dream!

“I find myself on a small town Main Street when I realize I am dreaming. When this happens, it is more of a ‘knowing’ feeling. I perform a nose-pinch reality check to confirm that I am indeed dreaming! I take a moment to look around and take in the sights and sounds. The scene is like a typical American Main Street. There are people outside filling the sidewalks, street stores are bustling with people and activity, there are children across the street playing basketball in the park. I take a walk down the street repeating “this is a dream” out loud over and over. The dream begins to fade. I hold onto my awareness and the dream actually reforms! I know start to float and fly over the small town…”
Notes: I performed a short MILD after waking up to record dreams three times on this night. It worked on the third try! I did not get out of bed to rouse myself completely, just performed an impromptu MILD when returning to sleep. I used the DEILD technique, or dream chaining, to maintain my awareness when the dream faded the first time. What a pleasant little dream scene!
