An important part of achieving any goal is setting definable, attainable goals. The same can be said for your lucid dream practice! Every now and again, some life event will get in the way of my lucid dreaming practice. Be it a long, stressful bout at work or an extended time away from home, sometimes I just need to focus on unplugging and focusing on just resting. After a short time away from the lucid dreaming game, I am restarting my dream practice, rebuilding my lucid dream skills back to my previous levels!
Goal Review
So how did I measure up to the goals that I set for myself last week? Let’s take a look:
- Dream Recall: The first area to improve is always your dream recall. Currently, my dream recall is in good shape. I can reliably remember 2-4 dreams each night without even dream journaling. So my dream recall will be to record at least one dream each night.
My dream recall remained strong, but I did fall short of my goal of recording one dream every night. I got lazy a couple of the nights….I am going to run this goal back this week
2. Induce 1 Lucid Dream: Let’s start slow! No matter how I get it done, I will induce at least one lucid dream this week.
Technically I succeeded in this goal! I had a very brief, spontaneous lucid dream in which I realized I was dreaming right before the dream faded away. I had enough time to take to the air and fly around a little bit, always a good time.
3. Lucid Dream Activities: So what do I want to accomplish in my next lucid dream? Realistically I will probably just fly around and observe the scenery, as is my default activity. But let’s think of something a little more interesting. I would like to ask a dream character “tell me something I need to know”.
My only lucid dream last week was so brief, I did not get a chance to talk to any dream characters.
This Week’s Goals
- Induce 1 Lucid Dream: Spontaneous lucid dreams are awesome, but I would like to succeed at inducing a lucid dream on purpose!
- Record at least one dream 5 nights this week: Let’s be honest, I have some early mornings planned this week so I will cut myself some slack and focus on getting restful sleep those nights
- Analyze dreams for dream signs: I will update my dream sign list to better inform my reality checks during the day
Wrapping Up
These are some resonable, measureable goals for the week! In combination with my daily routine, I should be set up for a nice week of dreams, hopefully some lucid ones!
